Why haven’t I been put on Blood Pressure Medication during Pregnancy?

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant, during the duration of my pregnancy, my blood pressure has been around 150/90. Between weeks 18-26 it had settled down to 130/80, but this last week it rose back up to 150/90. I do have several back injuries (a fracture and a few ruptured discs), which may cause the high blood pressure, I just don’t understand why I haven’t been put on any bp medication. Does anyone know what the case may be?

That might be a question for your doctor but from past expereince, 150/90 is high but i have seen some people between 190 to 200/100 blood pressure. may be they are waiting till you get to that level. Most predo women do get high blood pressure during pregnancy. It is normal for some people and their bp will come down after the baby is born.
