Whats the best way to reduce high blood pressure ?

Since your question is in alternative medicine, I assume you don’t want a prescription. Eliminate all the salt from your diet. Reduce your weight.

Cut out as much salt as you can, and exercise! I got high blood pressure when I was pregnant, and every now and then it comes back, but really, salt and exercise is what my doctor said.

aerobic exercise regularly (walk/jog/cycle 3 or more times per week). take flax seed or flax oil daily (ask your local health food store about this). reduce caffeine to one or two cups per day. check out the DASH diet for eating tips: lots of vegetables and fish, as much as you like; lean red meat only in limited quantities, i.e 3oz portions a few times a week, or not at all. it worked for me!

Whatever they said plus exercise! It increases metabolism burning stored fat, causes vasodilation decreasing peripheral resistance (drops your blood pressure), promotes excretion of excess fluids and salts, decreases LDL cholesterol and increases HDL production, and a lot more so exercise!

Now let’s go have a beer and exercise later.

Celery will reduce bp. Eat 4 stalks a day. If you don’t like to eat it, it does come in capsule form. It’s very inexpensive.
Hawthorn, 250mg 3 times a day, it dilates the artery walls and decreases bp.
Calcium and magnesium in a ratio of 2-1
Coq10, 100 mg 2-3 times a day
Garlic, 600 mg twice daily of an aged garlic extract.
Fish oil, 3,000 mg 3 times a day
Vitamin C, take 1,000-2,000 mg daily. It has mild bp lowering effects and helps the body detoxify toxic metals such as lead, which contribute to high bp
Valerian root is a strong nerve relaxer and may directly lower bp. Take 300 mg daily.
Taurine is an amino acid shown in research to lower bp in humans and animals. Take up to 6 grams daily between meals.
Reishi extract should be takenin 500 mg doses 3 times daily for a bp lowering effect.
Dandelion leaf acts as a gentle, natiral diuretic to lower bp. Take 300 mg of the capsule form.
I would recommend a good multivitamin such as Nature’s Way Alive!. They have super green foods, fruit and vegetable blends, a mushroom complex, essential fatty acids and the usual vitamins and minerals.
A diet high in fiber is an excellent way to control or reverse high bp. Meals should be based around fresh, raw vegetables: soy products; whole grains, like oats, beans, nuts and seeds.
As you lower your salt intake, you must also increase your consumption of potassium. A combination of excess sodium and a defiency in potassium has been found in many people with hypertension. Good sources of potrassium include apples, aspargus, cabbage, bananas, tomatoes, kelp and alfalfa. Apples are super foods for people with high bp. Not only for the potassium, but the pectin, which is an excellent form of fiber.
Not only reduce the amount of salt you use, but cut out packaged and processed foods as well as they too are loaded with salt. Smoked meats and cheeses are too.

My brother is an overweight alcoholic with inherited high blood pressure. He’s 29. He avoids complications by taking an OTC suppliment he buys at Walgreen’s and Winn Dixie. I can’t recall the name of it, but it works wonders. It’s a large white bottle and it has a red background and yellow lettering. By using this, he doesn’t have to take the doctor’s perscription, anymore. It "cured" him. The bottle isn’t hard to spot and isn’t too pricey. Good luck!
