What are symptoms of High Blood Pressure?

A friend of mine is often woken at night by a shot breath and after that his heart start pounding fast.But he most of the time have a partial ache in the chest and a short of breath.

If the pulse rate exceeds 100 beats per minute, you should consult a cardiologist.
Disturbed heart rhythm, or arrhythmia, occurs when the heart's natural pacemaker develops an abnormal rate or rhythm, the normal blood flow is blocked or another part of the heart takes over as pacemaker.
Symptoms of Hypertension:
Most of the time, there are no symptoms. Symptoms that may occur include:
* Confusion
* Chest pain
* Ear noise or buzzing
* Irregular heartbeat
* Nosebleed
* Tiredness
* Vision changes
If you have a severe headache or any of the symptoms above, see your doctor right away. This may be a signs of a complication or dangerously high blood pressure called malignant hypertension.

He/she needs to see a doctor. This COULD be high BP which could lead to stroke or death.

It could also be anxiety caused by stress, or just general anxiety which is horrible, but harmless.

No matter what, only a Doctor can tell for sure so your friend should see one as soon as possible.

Hypertension is often called the silent killer as there are often no preceding signs or symptoms. It may go unchecked for many years, or even decades. Most of the time it is an incidental finding during routine check ups. Some of the symptoms to watch out for:

Headache
Dizziness
Shortness of breath
Blurred vision
Drowsiness
Irregular heart beat.

The only way of knowing that you have high blood pressure is to have it measured by your doctor, nurse or pharmacist, and monitored on a regular basis

It is best for your friend to go to the doctor with the issue they are having. Only they can tell what it is

Hope this helps? :D

High blood pressure ( Hypertension ) often has no symptoms. That's why it's called the silent killer. Chest pain & shortness of breath are 2 symptoms of heart disease. He needs to get to a Dr. & if needed, start on medications & diet.

HBP has no warning signs but your friend could have a circulatory problem and should have a check up ASAP.
