what are some hidden symptoms of high blood pressure? I took my blood pressure today and it was?

147 over 105. My uncle said that is not good.

The problem with the hidden symptoms of high blood pressure is just that. . .they're hidden. Some people get dizzy or find that they're retaining water, particularly in the ankles and other extremities. But many people have no symptoms at all.

I agree with those who said that a trip to the doctor is in order. In the meantime, cut back on heavily salted snacks and other foods, and limit the amount of fried food that you eat. Get plenty of exercise, but check with the doctor to see what he recommends for you, be it walking or whatever.

The meds for high blood pressure are usually inexpensive and normally don't have many side effects. But sometimes blood pressure can be controlled by diet and exercise. In any event, please get a check up soon, and I hope everything goes well for you.

head aches, dizziness, getting winded fast, feeling your heart pounding either in your chest, your throat or your ears, feeling like your ears have cotton in them. often swelling of hands and feet. yes you have high blood pressure, see a doctor, the treatment is a simple pill and no more salt.

That isn't good. Normal blood pressure is 120/80. You need to get to a doctor and discuss the possibility of medication. Also, limit fried, greasy, and salty foods which all attribute to hypertension.

That seems to be high. Normal is 120/80. There are no real symptoms. You need to check with your doctor.

Thats on the high side.

Make sure you are taking it at rest.

Leaving this blood pressure alone will cause you serious cardiac problems eventually. See a doc as soon as you can. There are many many things you can do to make this better. Walking, eating low fat, low sugar diet will help.

Sometimes you might have a headache or nosebleed. But you should really have your b/p checked by a doctor in case you do need medicine to get this under better control.

Note… High Blood Pressure is usually a silent or symptom free condition.

There could be a lot of reasons for high blood pressure. Some of the symptoms are fatigue, dizziness, problems with your eyes, like a blurry image that lasts seconds, feeling sleepy. the symptoms are similar to the ones caused by hypoglycemia. all these are common symptoms but check your blood pressure again because it could just be caused by a medication you took. If not go to your doctor and get some tests and medication if needed.

normal is 120/80
hypertension (high blood pressure) starts from 140/100 measured in several occasions and not only once
the disease is usually silent
discovered early, u ll prevent its adverse effects on heart, kidney, brain, eyes,…
there's "white coat hypertension" where u measure it under tension so u get a high reading, this is not the disease

Unfortunately that is why hypertension is the "silent killer". For most people there are no symptoms. Some people can get headaches and generally not feel good. 147/105 is not a good blood pressure. The diastolic (105) is very high. Doctors usually want this number below 80. I'd monitor it for a few days while resting. If it continues to be high contact your doctor.

It's high, but you can try natural means to lower it before you go on meds:

1) Lower salt to 1500 mg/day
2) Drink lotsa water each day
3) Cut out red meat from your diet
4) eat a banana a day
5) Walk or other exercise for at least 20 mins each day

Do all that for 3-4 weeks then retest. Good luck! Here's a good forum where I learn a lot:
