What are some causes of high blood pressure to a 15 year old boy?

Most likely it is genetic. Unless he has extreme eating habits (very high sodium diet). My friend is 28 and has high blood pressure since 20. I agree that weight may play a role, however 15 is very young. If you feel that his blood pressure is unsafe. I would check with a doctor about medication. Best of luck to you and your son.

It could be several factors, genetics, obesity, inactivity, etc. If you have a 15 year old child with high blood pressure I hope he/she is seeing a physician and steps are being taken to remedy this.

Obesity, Heredity, plaque in the renal arteries, high salt content to the diet and many others. Get a full check up and find the cause so you can prevent future problems. Medication can help but a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet is part of the complete plan to prevent related problems.
