High Blood Pressure – Natural Solutions

Some of the Causes of High Blood Pressure

Before analyzing some of the effective solutions for high blood pressure, we must first look at some of the possible causes of this problem. According to modern medicine some of the basic causes of high blood pressure are:

1. MALFUNCTIONING OF THE KIDNEYS may in various ways disturb the proper balance of water in the body. The kidneys determine the electrolyte balance in the liquids of the body, and thus will affect how much water will be retained in the body and how much will be expelled from the body. If the kidneys have heredity weaknesses, or are tired, or imbalanced because of life factors, then too much liquid may accumulate in the body increasing the blood pressure. One factor may be inefficient salt excretion. On the other hand, the kidneys may simply be very tired and overworked because of a heavily toxic diet with large overdoses of SODIUM. A direct relationship between the intake of high sodium foods and high blood pressure has been established.

It seems also that the kidney is responsible for producing various chemical substances, which in a certain way control the blood pressure and the tension of the walls of the arteries and veins in the circulatory system. Well-functioning kidneys are essential for control of proper blood pressure.

2. MALFUNCTIONING OF THE ADRENAL GLANDS may also be the root cause of disturbances in the blood pressure. Disturbances in the pituitary gland and hypothalamus can affect the functioning of the adrenals in a negative way, creating high or low blood pressure. In general, any malfunctioning of the endocrine system may result in blood pressure problems. It is also likely that this disharmony in the endocrine system may in turn be the result of emotional or mental stress, or unhealthy living habits.

3. THE NERVOUS SYSTEM may give messages of contraction to the arteries and veins causing the pressure to rise as the volume of the circulatory system is decreased. The reasons why the nervous system may do this may be different in each person, but in most cases they are psychosomatic.

4. OUR DIET affects our blood pressure. It is logical to believe that the substances of which the blood is constituted will affect the amount of liquid held in the blood and the tension of the walls of the blood vessels. This is especially true in cases where toxic waste products tend to accumulate on the walls of the blood vessels, destroying their flexibility and narrowing the opening and thus the volume of the vessels. The pressure in these vessels increases.

5. OUR ENVIRONMENT creates various stress conditions, which may force our bodies to react with a rise in blood pressure. The pressures we feel at work, at home, in the society are transferred through the endocrine and nervous system into a tension and pressure within our body.

6. OUR WAY OF REACTING TO LIFE will play perhaps the most important part of all. An individual who feels secure, relaxed and self-confident in the face of responsibilities and stressful situations will obviously be able to maintain a normal healthy condition, independent of the external pressures. It has been shown in thousands of cases of people who had high blood pressure that when they learned how to relax they were able to keep the problem under control often without the use of medical drugs.

7. There are OTHER CAUSES, which we have not mentioned here.

SOME NATURAL SOLUTIONS

Now let us examine some possible measures we can take in order to overcome the problem of high blood pressure. Those with serious health problems would do well to consult their doctors before employing any of the following.

1. Purification of the Blood Stream. If the problem of high blood pressure seems to be accentuated by a toxic condition in the body and the blood stream, then we can improve the situation by cleaning up the inner part of the body. This inner cleansing can be made in the following way:

a. Avoid salt, animal proteins, animal fats, cheese, butter and all canned vegetables or any substances which have sodium salts added as preservatives or for taste.

b. Avoid all stimulants such as black tea, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, salt, mustard, black and white pepper, ginger, nutmeg and other spices.

c. Eat plenty of high potassium foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains and beans. Especially green leafy vegetables.

d. Occasional juice and vegetable broth fasts under the guidance of a doctor will help to change the blood chemistry; detoxify the kidneys, blood vessels and other organs and restore a natural healthy condition in the body.

e. The use of garlic and onions can tend to open up and clean the arteries. One may take them in fresh form or in capsules. Some naturopathic doctors also suggest lecithin and vitamin C for helping to restore healthy blood vessels.

f. Eating only watermelon for one week during the summer when it is in season can help purify and rejuvenate the kidneys.

2. The Restoration of the Proper Functioning of the Kidneys and Adrenal Glands.

We may stimulate the kidneys and adrenal glands into more harmonious functioning in some of the following ways:

a. Various physical exercises which tonify these organs. These can be learned from a well-trained Yoga teacher.

b. Through Reflexology Massage on the points corresponding to the kidneys and adrenal glands on the soles of the feet we can effectively rejuvenate and harmonize these glands.

3. Regular Relaxation of the Nervous System Through Various Techniques.

We can relax and strengthen the nervous system so that it is more resistant to stress and effort in our daily life in the following ways:

a. Deep relaxation techniques in which we can learn to consciously relax the muscles and nerves and thus the walls of the blood vessels. While in this deeply relaxed state, we can imagine light and healing energy flowing into the heart, adrenals, kidneys and head area.

b. Exercises and breathing techniques can be used on a regular basis to release muscular and emotional tension from the body and mind.

c. Certain phonetic vibrations such as «OOOO» and «MMMM» have a calming and balancing effect on the body and mind.

d. Regular meditation has proven to be extremely effective in overcoming high blood pressure.
Details about the above-mentioned techniques can be learned from competent yoga teachers.

4. Change of Attitude Towards Life

Our attitudes towards life; our attachments, aversions, fears and ways of reacting to life can create a great deal of unnecessary tension in our lives. When the cause of high blood pressure is psychosomatic, it is obviously necessary to analyze and overcome these emotional factors which are contributing to the problem. Otherwise a total control of the situation will be impossible even if we perfectly employ the other physically oriented methods.

We can begin to analyze the factors in our lives, which are causing us to react with stress or worry and gradually become freer from these ways of reacting. We would do well to approach life in a more relaxed way, with self-confidence and peace of mind. We can gradually work towards this state of mind through working with various systems of self-analysis and self-transformation, which are available today.

(Vocus/PRWEB) February 15, 2011

There are many natural supplements for high blood pressure. But the question is, are they effective? When you age, changes take place in your body. One of these changes is elasticity of your blood vessels. Many know that high blood pressure can lead to heart attack and stroke. But new studies show that high blood pressure can also effect memory loss. Natural high blood pressure supplements can help with heart disease symptoms and memory loss.

According to the Mayo Clinic, high blood pressure may lessen your ability to think, remember and learn as you age. Uncontrolled high blood pressure has been linked to cognitive decline and dementia. High blood pressure can produce tiny blockages and spots of degeneration within the brain. And researchers say that people who have a loss of cognitive abilities are the ones most likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease later in life.

It is important for adults to take proper care as they age and to do what they can to lower their high blood pressure. That is where natural high blood pressure solutions can help. Natural heart health supplements can do wonders for reducing blood pressure naturally. Ingredients such as nattokinase, bonito fish, celery seed extract, acetyl L-carnintine and cranberry extract, may help to lower blood pressure naturally, optimize blood mobility, avoid blood clots and guard against heart disease. Blood pressure supplements can also assist in increasing energy, strengthening immunity and help improve memory.

Adults searching for heart health solutions can find it by using natural health products such as Natto BP Plus™. The other benefits of these healthy heart supplements are that they can help adults prevent heart disease by decreasing blood thickness, increase oxygen flow throughout the body, and attack excess fibrin, the protein that sticks to blood vessel walls and impedes blood flow. This will aid in diminishing the heart’s workload.

Prescription drugs may lower blood pressure, but can also cause side effects; fatigue, cramps, dizziness, headache, constipation, insomnia, chronic cough, fever and anemia. Unlike prescription drugs with side effects, supplements for high blood pressure may help with the prevention of heart disease naturally without diuretics or vasodilators. Many responsible health care consumers resist consuming prescription drugs on a regular basis because of the negative side effects.

If adults are not able to control their high blood pressure symptoms, they not only run the risk of heart attacks and strokes, but could also be plagued with kidney failure and cognitive decline and dementia. Supplements for high blood pressure may help to control high blood pressure symptoms along with improving blood vessel health so that their lives can be fulfilling as they age.

Schaumburg, IL (Vocus) April 3, 2010

Dr. Mercola of Mercola.com released yesterday a new heart health product that also supports blood pressure already in the normal range.*

Cardiovascular Support, a Dr. Mercola Premium Supplement, supports the body’s need for L-arginine, a semi-essential amino acid that promotes efficient blood flow and supports cardiovascular health.*

“I believe it is truly reassuring to know there’s a potential way to enhance nitric oxide production,” states Dr. Joseph Mercola. “With Cardiovascular Support and its sustained-release nutrient, your vessel lining can get the potential L-arginine boost you desire.”*

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), many people across all age groups experience less-than-optimal cardiovascular health.

Blood is the body’s nutritious oil, so to speak, that feeds all vital organs and keeps everything running smoothly.

In 1998, Nobel Prize recipients discovered that nitric oxide served as a signaling mechanism helping blood vessels stay dilated and relaxed for optimal blood flow.

Nitric oxide is also an air pollutant. But internally, the body’s cells produce it to help the blood vessels stay relaxed and open for blood flow.

As a person ages, however, internal nitric oxide production declines, so supporting it with an aid like L-arginine — which enhances the signaling of nitric oxide — can be a smart move.

Dr. Mercola’s website, Mercola.com, remains the most-visited alternative health website in the world.

About Mercola.com:

Mercola.com, founded by Dr. Joseph Mercola, remains the internet’s #1 ranked natural health website.

Dr. Mercola established the website with a mission to educate people about the current medical system that focuses solely on covering up or removing symptoms with the so-called “solutions” of drugs and surgery.

Instead, Dr. Mercola envisions an improved health care system that informs the public about the true underlying causes of illness — and provides real insights and solutions to preventing and curing diseases.

Here’s a tiny snapshot of what your audience will find on Mercola.com:
Hi, I’m Cordell Brown and I’m a CVS pharmacist. If you have high blood pressure, owning a home monitor can help you keep track of your levels.
Arm monitors are the most common and they are available in two types. Aneroid monitors are similar to the ones used in most doctors’ offices and are the least expensive. You simply wrap the cuff around your arm, squeeze a rubber ball to inflate the cuff, and listen to your pulse through a stethoscope as the cuff slowly deflates.
Digital monitors are similar, but you don’t have to use a stethoscope, and some models inflate automatically, so you don’t have to squeeze a bulb. After the cuff deflates, your pressure appears on screen. Although digital monitors are more expensive, they’re easier to use and leave less room for human error. They’re also a good choice for anyone with hearing problems, because you don’t have to listen through a stethoscope.
To ensure accurate results, make sure your cuff fits snugly around your bicep but you can still stick a finger under it. Also, take your home monitor with you to your next doctor’s appointment to check the accuracy against their machines.
When using your monitor, relax for a few minutes beforehand, sit still with your arm resting on a table so it is roughly level with your heart, and don’t talk while measuring. When storing your monitor be careful not to twist the tube or keep it near heat, and regularly check the tube for cracks or leaks.
Most importantly, understand your numbers. The top number, called systolic, describes the force of your blood when your heart beats. The bottom number, or diastolic, is the pressure when the main chamber in the left ventricle of your heart is at rest. As a general guideline, anything between 120 to 139 systolic and 80 to 89 diastolic is considered at-risk. Anything above 140 over 90 qualifies as high blood pressure.
If you have any questions, ask your CVS pharmacist. We’re here to help.

Hi, I’m Cordell Brown, I’m a CVS pharmacist. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a condition that affects one in four American adults. It can be serious, but fortunately there are a lot of medications to treat it.
Calcium channel blockers stop calcium from moving across the cell layer to help reduce the force of heart and muscle contractions. Side effects can include dizziness, fluid build-up in the legs, and rapid heart rate.
Peripheral vasodilators act by relaxing the blood vessels. Side effects of this drug include dizziness and orthostatic hypotension, which is a rapid lowering of blood pressure when a person stands up in the morning. Rising slowly out of bed reduces the effects.
Alpha and beta blockers work by making sure the contractions of the muscles in the arteries, veins, and heart are normal. Beta-blockers can cause heart abnormalities, including an irregular beat.
ACE inhibitors and ARBs help block angiotension II, a substance that constrict blood vessels and retains sodium. ACE inhibitors should not be used during pregnancy and may cause a persistent cough. ARBs are also well tolerated and do not cause the cough associated with ACE inhibitors.
Thiazide diuretics help lower blood pressure by promoting sodium loss. Typically this is recommended for mild hypertension and is often used in combination with the drugs mentioned earlier. It may cause potassium depletion, and routine use during pregnancy is not recommended.
I hope this helps explain blood pressure treatments. If you have any questions, talk to your CVS pharmacist. We’re here to help.

i was prescribe reboxetine, which is a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor (like strattera / atomoxetine, which is the most known NRI used for treatment of ADHD).
in this video, you can see possible side effects of the drug (sinus arrythmia) as well as the direct effects of the drug on my heart during peak plasma levels.
also, we will take a look at how my body reacts to bisoprolol, a beta blocker i was prescribed against hypertension and sinustachycardia – and i will be drinking some very strong coffee with a lot of sugar to see what this substance does.

i think the rather ‘odd’ effects of the reboxetine on my heart actually have to do with my mind. i was quite hyper and annoyed to have to lay down for 10 minutes before taking reboxetine, and afterwards, i was rather relaxed and was just idle and fine laying around on my bed. this relaxed feeling increased with the coffeine and sugar intake.
so, that may have lead to the drop in heart frequency.

conclusion: the drug does indeed make me calmer.
but, it doesnt have any influence on concentration as of yet – i didnt edit the sound files, and you can clearly hear i sound like a broken LP at some times, grrr. same issues as usual, just unedited.

Blood pressure can vary from person to person. When your blood pressure is measured it is stated in two numbers such as 120/80.The figure on the top denotes the pressure when the heart is pumping blood and its muscle is shortened. If your blood pressure is calculated as 140/90, then you are a candidate of hypertension or high blood pressure and thus you need to scale down your blood pressure level. Even So, you should be cognizant that blood pressure surfaces with age and so as you grow older you should keep a check on your blood pressure with the Omron Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor and scale down blood pressure if it is above the normal blood pressure level.

Trimming down blood pressure to average levels helps reduce the risk of critical health problems like heart or kidney disorders. You can reduce blood pressure in assorted ways. Firstly, if you are obese, you should propose to reduce your weight to within the guidelines for your height, body structure, and age. BMI, or Body Mass Index, is the best way to make up ones mind what is the idealised weight for you. This standard takes into account your height and weight.

However, dont initiate a crash diet, as this can create further troubles for your body. Reduce your weight slowly through eating a reasonable diet and doing some form of exercise. Exercise will help you transfer unwanted pounds and will also plays a undeniable role in reducing high blood pressure. Try to incorporate exercise into your daily regime, start out easily with walking and build up to include more aerobic exercises.

Take your wellness to the next tier with the included Omron Health Management Software. This PC software offers a blood pressure and pulse graph that lets you see how your measures are trending over time. You can also look at your most common values and name variations by time frame with the absolute frequency distribution graph. The software is simple to use, and it supports multiple users. With just one click, you can download information via the HEM-790ITs USB connection and see graphically displayed measurements on your computer screen in seconds.

To further concentrate blood pressure, reduce your consumption of salty foods and avoid or cut down on alcohol. You may also want to includ foods rich in calcium and potassium, as well as fish oils and magnesium can help reduce high blood pressure.

You have to keep up a healthy lifestyle in order to master your blood pressure. Some of the key and essential tips are following a healthy diet with low salt and sodium, maintaining healthy weight, being active physically, limiting alcohol intake and putting a stop to smoking.

It is very critical to keep your blood pressure level normal or bring down blood pressure if it rises because high blood pressure can cause bad health problems and hurt the body. One of the important revealings in regards to reducing blood pressure is intake of sesame oil. Utilizing sesame oil rather than other edible oil helps in reducing blood pressure or bringing down blood pressure. Sesame oil contains just about forty three percent polyunsaturated fatty acids, which has an affect on the blood pressure and lends to reducing blood pressure.

From London – Nutrition and bacterial flora in the intestines may influence blood pressure more than our genes. A study published in Nature analyzed the urine metabolites or breakdown products of over 4,600 subjects, and found that various nutritional factors influenced the risk of developing high blood pressure, including a high salt diet, formic acid, and the presence of alanine, an amino acid found in animal meat.

From Philadelphia – The American Heart Association is recommending that those diagnosed with ADHD be screened for heart conditions, because stimulants used to treat the condition may raise the risk of high blood pressure and arrhythmias. The study, published in Circulation, is recommending that an EKG be obtained prior to the initiation of treatment. If normal, screening should continue on a regular basis.

And finally, from Minnesota – While men are known to have a higher risk of heart disease, new research shows that the raised risk may start in adolescence. In a study that followed over 500 adolescents for a number of years, males and females were similar in terms of blood pressure, blood fats and cholesterol at the start of the study. By the age of 19, however, boys had higher blood pressure, lower HDL levels and higher insulin resistance, all of which raise the risk of heart disease.
