Reducing high blood pressure immediately.?

How can you reduce blood pressure immediately when it measures too high? – Obviously when the reading is high and there a symptoms of dizziness what can you do (even when all the required medication has been taken already)…..[we've already asked the GP and he doesn't answer or says outright he doesn't know!]….. Any serious advice please, this is a worrying issue…..thank you.

You need to speak to a specialist and he will give you some blood pressure stabiliser pills.
My mum has a high blood pressure and when it gets worse she need to take gamaglobulin to reduce it. The pressure gets low in about 1 min.

Reduce your salt intake to as low as possible, take gentle exercise and eat low fat food

Yes believe it or not watching fish in a tank or a bowl lowers blood pressure..
Also stop all salt intake
drink plenty of water!

wish i knew my medication not working been of work 19 wks now
dizzy ,nose bleeds ,TIAs
doctor keeps telling me slow down plenty rest & put my feet up
is your cholestrol normal also your blood platelet count get them checked also reduce salt intake

If it is high and you need to get it down you can try a position that us nurses use with our patients. Trendelenburg position is where the body is laid flat on the back with the head lower than the pelvis.

My husband came home from a 3 day trip last week his blood pressure was 180 over 100 and because his pressure was so high for over 8 hours I gave him another high blood pressure pill and I check him a hour later and it had drop to 140 over 90 he was more stable the next day,I would of taken him to th ER but he would not go so I had no choice.The best thing to do is call your doctor, or go to the ER it is a serious signe that something is wrong ,please be safe rather than sorry, trust me I know from experience ER is your best choice.

do not eating salt, suger ,and fast foot
eating fresh frut more
walking for 30 minute everyday and have light sport
far from strees
left smoking and drinking

Whilst at our local Curves gym a lady told me because of exercising her blood pressure had reduced enough for her to stop taking her medication – and all because she took exercise.

I’ve heard that sitting and stroking a cat or dog immediately reduces the blood pressure.
In the long term there is an answer but it is quite drastic. If you eat only fish, fruit, veg, white meat, pulses, small amount of dairy and nothing processed and no alcohol, the blood pressure plummets and your system becomes quiet. We are talking 40/50 points systolic and 30 diastolic.
Wheat, yeast, monosodium glutamate (in everything processed) and sugary products all encourage water retention which increases blood pressure.
I’ve compared notes with friends who have also gone on elimination diets to counteract food intolerances and they’ve found the same.

I’m taking BP medication, my usual readings are 120/85 in the mornings, and 130/95 to 100 in the evenings after I come home from work. I have a glass of red wine, it goes down to 120/80. Try. But do talk to your doctor too. Take care.

Look in the library for any literature on meditation. Better still, find a class where you can learn. Controlled breathing is easy to learn and benefits you for a lifetime.

Don’t know of any immediate solutions – it’s more of an ongoing regimen – reduce salt ( no need to add it really and processed foods have too much so avoid as hidden in many food eg cornflakes), drink lots of water (takes out salt and excess fluid and fills stomach so you may not overeat), lose weight if over and have doc or nurse check BMI, check cholesterol and eat low-fat diet – go on lipid-reducing tablet and B/P tablet if doc says as alternative is possible stroke/heart attack.

Exercise is very important as you lose weight and make cardiac systemhealthier and boost immune system – if you have high b/p please have instruction on exercise or else do brisk walks 3-4 times a week 20 mins or more.

try destressing therapies (you should already feel better to some extent with exercise) – music, swimming,yoga,meditation – if dizzy or headaches lie down if poss in calm quiet environment until it passes – see doc if regular or persists.

Hope you get the b/p down okay – you have to work at it as well as taking the tabs but try not to worry too much and tell yourself you will sort it out.

Here it is-

Take Big slow deep breaths.

If you can focus your breathing you can dramatically lower your pressure. We used to do this often in the ambulance and it worked great. Fish tanks and cats have also shown great results. Drugs are the preferred method in most health care systems and work well when taken properly. But for quick results coaching a persons breathing works great! Get them to slow down and breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

No way to ‘instantly’ reduce BP. Be the correct weight, reduce salt and take regular CV exercises are good non- medication moves which help in the long term. Take your medication regularly and attend for regular checks with GP to confirm control is adequate. What is important is your average BP reading not one of peaks or troughs.
