One doctor told me that eating garlic reduces high blood pressure, another herbalist said he has a cure. But am not sure of either the two.
If you have high blood pressure, the most important thing to do is monitor it regularly. If it's consistently above about 135/85, your doc should be considering a medication. There are many good and cheap ones with few or no side effects. No matter what, you should get regular aerobic exercise, lose any excess weight you may have (this can clear up high blood pressure by itself if you manage to do it), avoid smoking, excess alcohol, and both fatty and high salt foods (i.e., fast foods and prepared foods). You don't want to spend a life with high blood pressure. It will definitely shorten your life and may make the last years of your life very uncomfortable because of heart failure. My dad went through this, and it was very painful to see. Go ahead and eat garlic, but if you are not monitoring your BP, this will not protect you.
is there any proper medication for high blood pressure?

Garlic is supposed to help lower blood pressure. Also I guarantee you that working out and exercising on a regular basis with definitely get your blood pressure down. It helps the heart pump more efficiently therefore lowering the blood pressure.
I have borderline high pressure. Since 1974 I've kept it under control by exercise, not eating salt, not smoking, not drinking.
Everytime I "slip" and stop exercising my pressure goes right back up. I simply donot want to take medicine so I'm firmly committed to exercising.

depends on how high your BP is and if you exercise regular,, garlic is a good health thing to take but I doubt taking it will cure your HBP<
you can try a over the counter Diuretic too, they are finding with HBP that they help the medicines with controlling it,
also Cayenne pepper pills can help too, but again depends on what is going on in your life, stress was my problem and still is caused by my job, and now divorced, my alcoholic wife and her kids caused alot of my stress,

There are prescription drugs from the Doctor that work, it takes a little time to sort out the right ones for each person but they do work. Try to relax, stress is the biggest factor, drinking and smoking raise the blood pressure !!!!

there is medicine for high blood pressure and your doctor would be able to prescribe it for you if you need it…
if you want to go for herbal or other complementary medicine/treatment make sure you go to someone who is accreditied and preferably recommended by someone who has been treated by them..

I had very high blood pressure for some years. I used a prescription drug Lisinopril and now do not have high blood pressure and the medication has been discontinued. More than twelve months later I am still OK.

You are right to query any medication prescribed for you, whether it be from a doctor or a herbalist.
I add a link for the usual types of drugs that might be prescribed by your doctor. If, after reading the contents of link (2), you decide on that course, you should first consult with your doctor, to ensure that you can be monitored.

extracted from the above
Too much estrogen (estrogen dominance) in our body will cause the retention of fluid made up of sodium and water, and the subsequent loss of potassium and magnesium. Hypertension or high blood pressure is the end product.

I would suggest you do the on line hormone tests at http://www.hormoneprofile.com or http://www.johnleemd.com
If it is recommend you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see http://www.npis.info or http://www.salivatest.com.
A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not.
If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested for you. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.
If you have a saliva test they will advise you of hormones that you may require. They are the experts I am not, I am making suggestions where you should look. Hopefully in a nice manner (If not let me know
)
The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.
A transcript of a John Lee talk – this explains why for hormones a blood test is worthless..

Blood tests find hormones but they are the one on their way out of the body. They are not the active hormone levels.
One woman's search for the cure for her illness 1997 revised 2002
http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/01.htm – 33.htm yes about 30 odd pages
http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/06.htm lists the things that may occur due to hormone imbalance.
If you want a second opinion I'd suggest one of the doctors on the http://www.npis.info list. Also on this site there women's stories.
If you search elsewhere on the web for “natural progesterone” or “natural progesterone hypertension” you may come across many web pages and some with stories
At http://www.hormoneprofile.com there is quite a bit of information on how hormones work.
Hope this helps
