Can anyone list at least 3 things I could do to lower my blood pressure, and explain to me how it will help lower it?
I've been told to exercise more, but so far nobody has been able to explain to me how that would help.
I am a 29 yr old healthy female but I had a real problem with high blood pressure. Then all of a sudden my blood pressure came down to normal levels and has stayed that way – the only difference was that I lost weight and stopped being so stressed – so maybe these were factors.

First off, don't ask why it will help, just know that it will. High blood pressure can cause a lot of problems in the long run, so don't ask why or how.
1. Exercise
2. Reduce or cut out sodium
3. Don't drink or smoke
4. If you don't smoke or drink, then try to get at least 3,500 mg of potassium every day.

If you exercise >30 min at 75% to 80% heart rate (max 220 minus your age times 75%) most days of the week you'll reduce your blood pressure somewhat.
Some people can reduce their salt intake and lower blood pressure.
Eating lots of raw garlic and cayenne pepper will lower it some. Eating six celery stalks a day they say will work.
Losing weight if you are overweight makes it drop dramatically.
Avoid meds if you can.
Consume lots of potassium rich juices and fruits.
Taking a bath in epsom salts will give you essential magnesium.
Consume dairy products for a calcium source.
Also, controlled breathing helps, here is a web site: http://www.vitalitymedical.com/VitalityMedical.storefront/EN/Product/ITCRESPERATE?GCID=C13064x005
