How to breathe when lifting weights

In this video I talk about the right way to breathe when lifting weights. There is a lot of conflicting information out there and I tell it like I see it.

I’m not a doctor, but I think that high blood pressure can cause: hernias (a drag but not life threatening), burst blood vessels in the eyes (again a drag but not life threatening). The problem is that if you have any weak blood vessels, the high blood pressure can burst them and if its in your brain you die instantly. Any M.D’s out there who can correct me and lend some expertise to this???? What are the dangers of momentary high blood pressure caused by holding the breath under extreme exertion? I didnt mention any specific medical problems in this video because that is beyond my area of expertise. I will add them via annotations when I hear from some medical professionals.

@macdaddy1600 what do I think of bowflex? Well its expensive and takes up a lot of room but other than that its fine for working out at home. Personally I would rather have a $10 used set of dumbbells because you can do more exercises with them and they store easily in the bottom of your closet.

holding your breath=valsalva maneuver. It allows you to lift more weight, for who aren’t worried about blood pressure that is..

@mr8bally I completely agree with you. I don’t have any trainer and anyone to train with. Last time I did shoulder curles and I now have pain on one shoulder. I can not lift my arm above my head like if I want to place some object on a higher level, it pains. I have to use my other arm to do tht. It’s important to know the safety first. Also I have back problems. But still I do workout a lot.

hey scooby u make me want to work out man ,but heres my problem. Im skinny,145lbs i just want to tone up and get a little cut,and if i gain wait i lose it way to fast,some1 told me it was cause my body type…it was a bit discouraging to say the least..where they right? will i always be this skinny guy?ohh and i cant realy afford expensive food to help me bulk up i live on my own and my job sucks lol ,any ideas? and cheap food that can help me but not hurt my wallet
