My Dr. told me my blood pressure & cholesterol are slightly high.
Exercise, whether or not you need to lose weight. Exercise raises good cholestrol and lowers bad cholesterol. It also lowers blood pressure. Limit fast food. Believe it or not that reeks havoc on our bodies.
I am in the same boat. You can get it under control!

Omega-3 fatty acids taken daily are a start. Begin with 1,000mg per day, and gradually increase to 3,000mg daily, to get the benefits. Averages out to just 1 fish oil pill 3x a day.

For blood pressure, try to eat less salt. Plus, exercising will help, too. Also cut out carbonated beverages. Sorry, I can't help you with the cholesterol question.

Did he/she give you any advice on lowering them? Diet is an important factor. You should definitely cut back on salts and processed foods. More veggies! Also, you should make sure you are exercising regularly. Good luck.

Hi, Ask your doctor to recommend diet/exercise etc. and can be referred to a nutritionists. Did he or she give you medication, or was it not needed at this time? If that is the case then it would be wise to ask the other questions I suggested to you. Knowledge is a powerful thing!!!!, Go and get it, if you don't have it. Good Luck and the Best to You, Be Healthy!!!!! Mary

Diets low in saturated fats will reduce your cholesterol. Exercise and watching your salt intake with help with the blood pressure. Drinking alot of water, drop the sodas and processed/fast foods and use portion control. It's hard, but you need to do it for your health's sake. Look up the "Exchange Diet". Good Luck.

First of all, you need to see a physician. The effects of high blood pressure and cholesterol are life-threatening. S/he will probably give you medications for both, depending on how high the numbers are. The best thing that you can do for your health is lose weight. This means a diet high in vegetables and low in saturated fats. Also exercise, all you need is one-half hour of walking 5 times a week. And this means walking outside of your normal daily activities.
