well garlic is known to reduce the blood pressure so if you make a habit of cooking with garlic this should drop her blood pressure. to check BP you would also need to check her cholesterol intake so avoid the fatty milk, red meat, eggs (fried) and oily foods. generally healthy eating should do the trick with her medication.

I used to drink lots of enery drinks/coffee and my blood pressure was 20 above normal / normal.

Maybe ease off things like that is she drinks any.

reduce the sodium intake. fresh fruits and veggies. stay away from processed food, it’s packed with sodium. good luck ;)

High fiber, low fat diet works very well. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, lay off the processed food and fast food. Avoid salt and increase water consumption. Exercise that makes you sweat like a pig should be done for at least half an hour every single day.

It takes a while to train your taste buds if they are used to high fat and lots of salt, but you will get used to healthier foods very soon.

She can have a stroke if she doesn’t get her blood pressure under control. My 48 year old step dad was going from one medication to the next for his high blood pressure, and had a stroke. He has serious brain damage, underwent brain surgery twice and is blind in one eye. He can’t work anymore due to his long list of disablities and the brain damage. He literally died 3 times during his LONG hospital stay.

It’s serious and she should use this time to re-evaluate what’s important, high fat & high salt food or being alive? I’d choose exercise and salads for dinner, how ’bout you?
