Can having cancer cause high blood pressure?

if the colon cancer is making you feel ill, would this cause your blood pressure to increase? What other reasons would your blood pressure increase because of cancer, other than medications taken for cancer?

Yes cancer can cause hypertension. In a colon cancer it is probably due to liver mets involving the portal vein.

Cancer generally does not cause high blood pressure; however certain chemotherapy drugs caused my blood pressure to elevate somewhat. I also think lack of exercise and weight gain that can be associated with the illness and treatment could result in higher blood pressure.

Cancer in itself does not cause high blood pressure. What may cause a person’s blood pressure to rise is anxiety over the cancer, worrying all the time. I paced up and down. I did have my blood pressure rise. You can feel it in your head too. pulsing it seems. Anytime you’re face with a life or death situation, of course it can cause your blood pressure to rise. By itself, cancer will not cause your blood pressure to rise. Your’ attitude has a lot to do with it. I hope I’m making myself clear. God bless.

I have it too, but my blood sugar is still about the same. But anything that makes you worry can cause your blood pressure to go up. Also, any pain you might be having can also cause your blood pressure to rise.
