Thank you for the …
Thank you for the INFO!
yeah, i get that on …
yeah, i get that on amphetamine, too – however, i did not experience these effects on ritalin. it’s just that when i start to talk to somebody, the effect starts to feel “wrong” all of a sudden, like it’s something that isnt supposed to be there. i just noticed this somewhat goes away with prolonged talking, though… oh well, i’ll give it a few weeks before i decide to quit it or not.
You mentioned a …
You mentioned a side effect that it “would feel not right when you talk” (in your other video) I had that same effect when I took Stratera – a dopamine based treatment for ADHD. I felt as though I just wasn’t motivated to talk I can’t really explain it very well though. I would also fall asleep and when I woke up I had the feeling that the day before was just part of a dream – it felt like kind of a surreal experience.
I took Concerta for …
I took Concerta for three weeks, and I had a side effect, I would wake up in the middle night, sometimes I would write stories, but I progressively became more and more paranoid and schizophrenic. I stopped taking the medication after I woke up one night and was convinced that my neighbors were trying too steal our cable. I made this conclusion after watching them try to fix their powerline. I never did anything because knew I was probably just crazy but I felt as though I was right.
hmm, that sounds …
hmm, that sounds bad, especially as with depression, it’s often a lack of serotonine that’s causing it, so ritalin wont even really help against depression… but yeah, knowledge is power, as always.
That video explains …
That video explains lots of things my doctor never told me or worse yet, could be completely unaware of. Ritalin suppresses appetite and lowers blood sugar. The reason I felt so terrible when taking it could be due to hypoglycemia. I had no appetite for lunch, but naturally gravitated towards eating candy bars. In my case ADHD was probably a misdiagnosis, but at the time diagnosing depression/GAD in teens/children was taboo in the USA. Thus any problems are called ADHD for a quick fix.
That was quite an …
That was quite an interesting video.
You should do one on the effects of caffeine
yeah, that’s …
yeah, that’s typical for an “extrasystole” of some sort. when a PAC triggers an “out of the line” ventricular contraction, the next sinus impulse will likely hit a refractory myocardium, which will lead to it being “skipped”. also, a PVC itself will feel like a skipped / weak beat, as it isnt very effective for pumping blood.
the faster the sinus rhythm, the less “chance” for an ectopic pacemaker to actually “fire”, so it’s normal to have less PACs and PVCs when having a fast heart rate, too.
I get this quite …
I get this quite frequently, several times a minute, and it usually goes away if my heart rate becomes faster. I also feel it if I check my pulse on my neck or arm, there’s an intermittent weak pulse, or a skipped pulse.
I’ve never had …
I’ve never had confirmed PVC’s, I’ve had plenty of PAC’s picked up on ecg’s and holter monitors, so the doctors allways tell me not to worry since those are benign. Sometimes, however, when I’m lying down at night I can feel my pulse in my fingers, and occasionally it skips, there is a pulse missing, or there is a weaker premature pulse, I don’t feel anything other than the missed pulse, I’m guessing they’re PVC’s.
yeah, automated EKG …
yeah, automated EKG interpretations can often be wrong… especially when they interpret extrasystoles as e.g. bundle branch block, hypertrophy, or an S-T segment depression. i wouldnt worry about it too much, as long as your echo is okay and the doctor says you’re okay, too.
…and my accent is …
…and my accent is, well, german, i guess.
german’s my native language, anyway.
i’m pretty glad you didnt know this immediately, so i’ll take your question as a compliment, hehe.
how i “deal” with …
how i “deal” with them? i dont know, i just live with them, they dont bother me much anymore now i’ve studied them so thoroughly. “nothing in life is to be feared – it is only to be understood”, as marie curie said.
if they’re really bothering you that much, you could try various supplements like magnesium / calcium / potassium, if you have a lack of these; some people also say fish oil, garlic or whitethorn helps them.
if that doesnt help, you could try a low-dose beta blocker.
do you know why my …
do you know why my ecg would show mild right ventricular hypertrophy 3 times in a row in one month and my echocardiogram came back perfectly normal? do ecg’s give false positives like this all the time, or was my normal echo a false negative???
how do you deal …
how do you deal with the premature ventricular extrasystoles? whenever I feel them I think I’m gonna die, I actually felt suicidal before I saw a cardiologist who reassured me, but living with them is utter even knowing they’re mostly harmless…
also, what accent do you have? if you don’t mind me asking, sorry I know it’s unrelated to your video
yup, a lot of ” …
yup, a lot of “normal” people use it as “brain doping” nowadays.
i’ve never had appetite loss from ritalin; also, it makes me calmer, not nervous. i can even sleep on it.
ritalin is made in …
ritalin is made in switzerland the company is called NOVARTIS it is used for concentration problems i take it and it makes me nervous and you loose appetite ive seen so many people arround the world buying this thing in a drugstore after doctor appointment from old to young it is mainly used for hyperactive kids
by the way, i am …
by the way, i am from germany, yep. born and raised here… but ritalin helped me boost my english!
just kidding. i know english because i had internet access since i was a kid, that’s all. =)
lol, nah – you can …
lol, nah – you can in theory maybe boost your IQ using ritalin – because you can think more concentrated and thus, solve questions faster – but to be a doctor, you need KNOWLEDGE as well as intelligence and understanding.
anyway, you can get ritalin on prescription by doctors. i dont know if it has “hit the streets” as a drug yet, and i wouldnt recommend buying that, either. i would not recommend taking it without advise of a doctor at all, as it can have pretty bad side-effects.
here is the …
here is the evidence. If you take ritalin, you can be a dr. – I need this thing!!! anyone know where I can buy ritalin?
