Studies have shown that high blood pressure can actually affect your life expectancy. Researchers followed more than three-thousand patients-all in different health-for over 40 years and discovered one factor more than anything else determined how long they lived–their blood pressure. Specifically, those with high blood pressure at age 50 lived on average five years less than those with normal levels.
